What customers say?

“ I don’t know why I haven’t tried this place sooner, but I was surprised to find out their rice bowls rival oishii bento. I highly recommend them—great portions too. I tried their curry pork rice bowl, its pork tonkotsu and rice with japanese curry on top. Delicious. It also came with tomato egg and boiled veggies. They have a lot of different types of rice bowls to try as well. For the humble price of 11$ (at the time of writing this) the food and experience was well worth it. Sidenote: a lot of the reviews on here miss the upstairs seating area, its small and homey, so you have the option to eat there as well ”

“ I am really surprised by all these negative reviews. Everything I tired from this place was delicious and I was genuinely stunned by it. They give excellent portions and the food is actually quite good. I tried their 6 piece chicken tender meal with tender sauce, ranch, hush puppies and a pork egg roll (all of which came with the tender meal for free) as well as their fried cookie dough. The chicken itself was delicious. It was perfectly fried and still juicy on the inside. Not too dry at all. And, it wasn't too spicy while still having a lot of flavor. Not too fatty either. Just all around, great chicken. Both of the sauces were delicious too and I'd recommend them. The tender sauce is creamy and has a hint of tartness but I loved it. Great with the chicken. The sides were both very tasty too. The hush puppies were light and crispy. Still a bit sweet too. Exactly like I wanted them. The egg roll was a tad bit stale but still tasty. Stuffed with pork and vegetables. A bit dry but not bad. They even included a lovely piece of bread which was crispy and went well with the sauces. The cookie dough was one of the best desserts I've had in a while. Rich and chocolatey. Perfectly crispy. Great portion and great sweetness level. Tasted like actual cookie dough. Very good. All around, I'm not sure why this place got some of these reviews, and I really like it. Great chicken, great sides, great desserts. They also have a wide range for a menu. Try it out! ”

“ Came in here for a bite to eat with the family, seating is limited to barstools and a ledge but it seemed most people did take out as there were a number of people coming in to pick up orders. Inside you will find a menu full of options as well as a glass fridge stocked with a variety of drinks such as sodas, teas, Gatorade, water and aloe drinks. In regards to the food it's excellent, the chicken is fried fresh and it was extremely juicy and tender. The sauce they have a tasted great and the prices were decent for what you are getting. Keep in mind because everything is freshly friend it takes about 15 min to get your order but it's well worth the wait. Overall some of the best fried chicken I have had in the area. ”

“ Alot of my friends go to this place everytime. I told myself why not try. So I ordered the whole wings man oh man it's so juicy and fresh and I order the hibachi chicken fried rice. Wow its really good. I don't know where this negative reviews coming from. I say. This is a to go to place. ”

“ My gut reaction when I opened the takeout container was, "Huh, chicken fingers feel small..." but that was my eyes playing tricks on me because the side dishes were so generously large that it was easy to lose track of my tenders. The 6-piece meal ended up being maybe too much food because you get two sides and garlic bread. Filling no-frills finger food, just the way I like it! ”

- Dan Pencoske -

“ This is the best tender place in Oakland. You get a good amount of food for the price. Wide menu variety. The Tenders sauce is the best. This is the only place I've been to where they fill up the sauce containers all the way. ”

“ Their chicken is so much better than any chain restaurant around. Lots of variety and good for a picky group that can't decide. ”

- Jacob Magdon -

“ It's so great and the price for each bento is really acceptable for students. Popcorn chicken is also great! It's a nice place to have lunch or dinner. ”
